The project proposes a circumnavigation, where the duration of the journey is necessary for the questioning of knowledge in an area governed by the Uncertain.
The journey will take place over the course of a year and will be broken up into five legs.
The circumnavigation should not be viewed as an event; the duration is the event during which the time is necessary for the effects and processes of being in a reference-free space to be felt and called up.
The route will follow the Northeast Passage. The three waypoints that define the maritime route – Svalbard, Stewart Island, and Cape Horn – refer to The End of a State by Robert Jelinek. This exceptional passage is made possible thanks to the routing expertise of Arnaud Pennarun, the manager of the Pen Duick fleet.
